Nyberg most recently held managerial positions in Philips and was a member of the group’s management committee.
He is currently a chairman of DataCard Corp and Autoliv, and was chairman and CEO of NCR Corp between 1995 and 2003. He continued solely as chairman for two more years.
Last month the firm named Lennart Ribohn as chairman of Segulah amid managing partner Christian Sievert ceasing his role after ten years to focus on dealmaking.
Gabriel Urwitz, who was chairman at the time, took over as managing partner to replace Sievert as part of the switcharound.
Segulah is expected to re-enter the fundraising market this year, having hit the SEK5bn ($778m) hard cap for its fourth and last vehicle in 2007.
It previously raised SEK2.3bn for Segulah III and SEK850m for Segulah II.
