Asset management firm PineBridge Investments said that its Mexico-focused fund Certificados de Capital de Desarrollo (CKD I) has invested in five private market vehicles.
The initial investment represent around half of the $209m capital commitments to CKD I, the firm said in a statement.
CKD I has invested in Real Infrastructure Fund, which provides growth capital to small- and mid-sized renewable energy projects, mid-market fund Ventura Capital Privado Fund and real estate-focused Alsis Mexico Housing Opportunities Fund Offshore.
Growth equity investor Alta Growth Capital Mexico Fund II and TMT-focused Latin Idea Mexico Venture Capital Fund II also received commitments form the fund.
Global head of the Private Funds Group at PineBridge Steven Costabile said, “We are enthusiastic about the opportunities in the Mexican private markets and the investments we are providing to our limited partners.
“The pipeline of institutional quality private market funds in Mexico continues to grow and we expect to fund significant investments in 2014.”
Last year AltAssets reported that PineBridge received commitments of at least $130m for its third secondaries fund.
