The acquisition was made via Polskie Koleje Gorskie, a Mid Europa-controlled entity set up by four Tatra communities to participate in the PKL privatisation process.
Mid Europa, which reached an agreement to acquire PKL in May this year, did not disclose the financial terms of the deal.
The firm plans to expand the business both organically and via acquisitions to strengthen its position in the leisure and tourism market.
Back in July it was reported that Mid Europa expected to hold a first close for its €1bn-targeting fourth fund within a few months. AltAssets revealed last September that the firm had hired Credit Suisse to place Fund IV, although at that stage it had not decided on a target.
