boston landmarksThe $3.9bn State-Boston Retirement System is reportedly looking to invest another $45m in private equity funds of funds, secondaries and energy vehicles in the emerging markets.

SBRS hopes to invest $15m in each vehicle according to P&I, which cited the LP’s investment analyst John Kelly.

The pension fund has a seven per cent target allocation for private equity according to its most recent investment report, but had only hit a 4.2 per cent allocation at the end of March this year.

SBRS has committed about $475m of capital to its private equity program and another $646m to private equity real estate.

Its buyout fund investments generated a 7.5 per cent return last year, while real estate managed a 13.1 per cent return.

P&I said proposals for the three allocations were due on August 1, although no selection date had been set.
