Baring Private Equity Asia sued by Indian Schools

india5_lrgBaring Private Equity Asia has been sued by Global Indian Schools Holdings, which is arguing that the buyout firm vetoes a series of acquisitions to prevent the company from meeting its profit targets.

Baring, which has agreed to back Indian Schools with a $100m investment, prevented deals in Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Vietnam to reduce the educational services group’s price, it said in the lawsuit, according to Bloomberg.

Signs of the alleged conspiracy included delays over lease renewals, Indian Schools said in the lawsuit, which was filed in Singapore.
