Energy-focused private equity firm Post Oak Energy Capital has secured $600m for its second fund.
Post Oak closed the fund on its $500m hard cap and raised an additional $100m for co-investments.
Post Oak Energy Partners II will follow the same strategy as the Houston-based firm’s previous funds, investing in North American oil and gas companies, oil field services and related infrastructure.
The first fund has invested in seven companies including five regionally focused oil and gas operators, one oilfield services business and one midstream company.
Managing director Frost Cochran said, “We are pleased that our strategy and team have the support of some of the most experienced private energy investors in the world.
“Our management team’s industry backgrounds and investment experience will continue to create unique opportunities for our funds.”
In July last year Post Oak and Goldman Sachs Asset Management invested $100m in Houston-based firm PetroEdge Energy III.
