Netherlands-based Main Capital raises €12m for software-focused fund

Netherlands-based Main Capital has held a first closing of its software-focused fund, Main Capital III, on €12m.

Investors in Main Capital III include Swiss fund of funds Akina and a number of families and wealthy entrepreneurs, the firm said.

Main Capital III has a target size of €60m, with management committing at least €3.5m to the fund.

It expects to close a first investment in a buyout of a Netherlands-based international software firm in August, the firm said.

In the last several months the firm has sold two of its portfolio companies – insurance software-maker Actuera to Waterland Private Equity and Tedopres to Finnish-listed Etteplan.

Current investments include IASO Backup Technology, SecondFloor, Visionwaves, EuroSystems and Sharewire.

Akina recently held an interim closing for its Euro Choice V fund on €173.5m.
