Connecticut-based private equity firm Capital Partners has held a $360m final close for its second buyout fund.
The firm picked up commitments from LPs including the Colorado Fire and Police Pensions System, which committed $20m to the vehicle last summer.
Capital Partners Private Equity Income Fund II will target lower mid-market and mid-market buyout deals, and is more than twice the size of the firm’s debut vehicle.
Firm managing director Brian Fitzgerald said it would look to finance acquisitions with a moderate level of outside debt and substantial equity to minimise leverage-related risk.
The fund has already been used to make investments in furniture manufacturer American Leather and foam and rubber components maker Derby Fabricating Solutions.
