The company was valued at around €600m, but Sun European did not receive offers that matched this value, according to France’s Les Echos.
Sun European acquired DB Apparel in 2006 from Sara Lee, and put the company up for sale in 2012.
Headquartered in Rueil-Malmaison, France, DBA’s brand portfolio includes Wonderbra, Playtex, Loveable and Shock Absorber. The company a presence in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the UK, South Africa, Belgium and emerging markets.
Earlier this year Sun European sold fashion brand Lee Cooper to Iconix Brand Group for $72m in cash.
It is also won the bidding war for British beds retailer Dreams, which was put up for sale by owner Exponent Private Equity last December.
Sun Capital Partners is currently seeking $3bn for its latest buyout fund, according to a recent SEC filing.
