Carlyle and Advent bid for Quality Healthcare Medical Services

DCF 1.0Buyout major Carlyle and Japanese conglomerate Mitsui have reportedly made offers for Hong Kong-based Quality Healthcare Medical Services, which is currently owned by Indian group Fortis Healthcare.

A deal could value the business at $300m, said Reuters, citing people familiar with the matter.

Fortis Healthcare received 10 bids from suitors by last week’s deadline including an offer from private equity firm Advent international, said one of the sources.

Quality Healthcare has 50 medical centres, over 500 clinics and more than 20 dental and physiotherapy centres.

Earlier this year it was reported that Fortis Healthcare could raise as much as INR54.2 crore ($100m) from the World Bank’s investment arm IFC through both equity and foreign currency convertible bonds.
