Kent Godfrey has joined Pond Venture Partners, a European early-stage technology venture capitalist with offices in the UK and Silicon Valley, as a full partner. Godfrey joined Pond’s advisory board five years ago, becoming a limited partner investor in the Pond II fund. Previously he served with six successful high-technology start-ups, three of which have gone public and two have been acquired. He has eight years of CEO experience and has sat on the boards of eight different companies – seven private, one public. Pond was founded in 1997 and has over $200m under management.

Pond Venture Partners has also announced that Jamie Urquhart, ex-COO of ARM Holdings, has joined the firm as a venture partner. Richard Irving, managing partner at Pond, said, ‘Jamie is one of the few people in Europe who has genuinely helped build a billion-dollar company. He has run engineering, sales and marketing on an international basis and is an expert in the area of licensing. As the chief operating officer of a well-respected company who has been through an IPO on London and NASDAQ, and a period running ARM’s world-wide sales, his advice comes from a strong knowledge base.’
