US Venture Partners names Rick Lewis as general partner

US Venture Partners has promoted Rick Lewis to general partner after a string of successful investments in up-and-coming software and Internet companies.

Lewis, who has focused on enterprise software and security, mobile and consumer Internet companies, led the firm’s now exited investments in and Intermolecular.

He is currently leading investments in companies including Act-ON Software, ScoreBig, and Yammer, which closed a monster $85m funding round last week.

Irwin Federman, one of six existing GPs at the firm, said, “As USVP proceeds into its fourth decade, transition has become part of its life.

“It is self-evident that shifting technology emphasis, accompanied by dramatic market redefinitions, demands fresh perspectives and the constant grooming of new leadership.”

USVP has yielded 79 IPOs among its acquisitions over the past thirty years, focusing on early stage companies in enterprise software, medical, biopharma, and business and consumer services.
