Société Générale investment arm GIMS adds Karim Hajjaji as COO


GIMS, the private equity arm of French bank Société Générale, has appointed Karim Hajjaji as chief operating officer.

Hajjaji will join the GIMS executive management and retain his responsibilities as GIMS chief financial officer.

The joined the company in 1999 as head of financial control following roles at GRO/Credit Lyonnas and Dresdner France, where he headed the financial control department.

He was made chief financial officer of SG Americas in 2005, where he supervised the bank’s financial activities in the US, Canada, Brazil and Latin America.

Société Générale made him chief financial officer of GIMS in 2009.

Gims holds a 25 per cent stake in major European asset manager Amundi, which has about €658bn on its books, and an 80 per cent share of US market focused Trust Company of the West, which manages €91bn of assets.
