Global asset manager Neuberger Berman has hired Susan Kasser as managing director and head of private debt at Neuberger Berman Alternatives, based in New York.
Kasser joins from The Carlyle Group, where she was a founding member of Carlyle Mezzanine Partners. In this role, she focused on investing in privately negotiated junior debt and equity securities of middle market and large cap leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations and growth financings across multiple industries. Prior to Carlyle, she worked at Goldman Sachs in several groups, including leveraged finance, private equity and global investment research.
Neuberger Berman’s private debt business focuses on building portfolios of yield-oriented investments, including uni-tranche, second lien and mezzanine, and financing portfolio companies of private equity investors.
It is a part of the fir m’s LP investment group Neuberger Berman Alternatives, which has approximately 60 investment professionals focused on primary and secondary fund investments and direct debt and equity investments.
