Chicago’s Z Capital Partners adds Dr Claire Kendrick as a managing director


Chicago-based distressed investment firm Z Capital Partners has hired Claire Kendrick as a managing director and head of economic research.

Dr Kendrick will be responsible for transactions in the transportation, metal and mining, and paper and forestry industries. Most recently she was a principal at Hirtle, Callaghan & Co. where she was director of private equity investment and portfolio manager.

James J. Zenni, president and CEO of Z Capital, said, “We are delighted that Claire Kendrick has joined our investment team. Claire has broad investment and research experience, and expertise in a range of industries that is highly valuable in the execution of our private equity strategy.”

Prior to joining Hirtle in 2000, Dr. Kendrick was a senior vice president and the director of corporate bond research for Prudential Securities.

She received a Ph.D. in mineral economics from The Pennsylvania State University.

Z Capital Partners targets investments in areas including consumer products, steel, steel processors, agricultural, gaming, leisure/real estate, manufacturing, specialty services and automotive.
