Ex-Blackstone, Starwood execs eye $150m for niche early-stage RE, hospitality strategy

wolf-590756_1280Grey Wolf Ventures, the early-stage investment firm founded by former execs at Blackstone and Starwood Capital, is out targeting $150m for a fund.

The firm is yet to register any capital for Fifth Wall Ventures according to a filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

Grey Wolf sits in an unusual niche within venture capital, focusing on early and growth-stage investments in the real estate and hospitality sector.

Co-founder Brendan Wallace worked at Goldman Sachs in real estate investment banking before heading to Blackstone to cover real estate private equity.

He also previously worked at Brick & Mortar Ventures and Otter Rock Capital, leading over 65 investments in the last three years.

His fellow Grey Wolf co-founder Brad Greiwe started his career at UBS Investment Bank in the real estate, lodging & leisure group, before moving to work in real estate private equity at Tishman Speyer and Starwood Capital.

He was also the co-Founder and CTO of Invitation Homes, the largest owner & operator of single family rental properties in the US.
