US venture capital heavyweight Andreessen Horowitz, which counts Airbnb, Zynga and Facebook among its current investments, has raised $1.5bn for its latest fund.
According to Reuters, the new fund will bring the firm’s total assets under management to $2.7bn. The new fund will class the firm among a minority of venture capital houses with funds in excess of a billion dollars.
Andreessen Horowitz began with $300m in 2009 and then raised a further $900m the following year. Recent investments include last month’s $33.5m Series C financing round for protection and availability storage platform Actifio.
