Francisco Partners buys Therapeutic Research Center stake

Technology-focused private equity firm Francisco Partners has invested in drug therapy education, data and training provider Therapeutic Research Centre.

The company, which was founded in 1985, conducts extensive research on drug therapy data to provide unbiased recommendations for medical professionals.

Francisco Partners principal Chris Adams said, “We see a growing need for reliable information for healthcare professionals as advances in technology and a growing patient population combine to make the practice of medicine increasingly complex.

“Therapeutic Research Center is one of the most trusted platforms in healthcare, and we look forward to supporting the company in its continued growth.”

Shearman & Sterling acted as legal advisor to Francisco Partners, while Berkery, Noyes & Co served as the financial advisor to Therapeutic Research Center.

Choate Hall and Stewart provided legal counsel to the company.

Last month Francisco Partners acquired biometric identity management company Cross Match.

The company’s biometric solutions are used to capture and process the unique physiological characteristics of individuals to verify their identities.
