1 May 2012

Broadhaven Capital Partners has hired financial institutions expert Jim Denton as a partner.

Investment banker Denton was a founding member of JP Morgan’s Financial Institutions Group and headed the Bank and Specialty Finance M&A team, before joining Rothschild’s New York office.

While at JP Morgan Denton was involved in a number of M&A transactions which helped transform the banking industry, including including the sale of EAB to Citigroup, First Security to Wells Fargo, Corestates Financial to First Union and the IPO and spin-off of Capital One by Signet Bank.

He went on to work on a range of US and cross-border M&A deals and restructurings including the sale of Gresham Investments to Nuveen and recaps of Butterfield Bank, Doral Financial and Centerline Holdings.

Broadhaven co-founder Jerry von Dohlen said, “Jim has a well-deserved reputation as one of the leading investment bankers specializing in financial institutions.

“Following a long career with Rothschild and JP Morgan, Jim’s expertise is unmatched and we’re thrilled to have someone of his calibre join Broadhaven as a partner.”
