Braemer helps build Sefaira through $10.8m Series A financing

10 Apr 2012

Braemer Energy Ventures has led a $10.8m financing round in building-related energy efficiency software company Sefaira.

Netherlands-based Chrysalix and the UK’s Hermes GPE also took part in the Series A financing, which Sefaira said would be used to help roll out its cloud-based analysis and design software worldwide.

Braemer managing partner Neil Suslak and Chrysalis CEO Rene Savelsberg will join Sefaira’s board of directors as part of the deal.

The company’s software aims to help building designers analyze and compare sustainable building strategies for new build or retrofit projects in a fraction of the time and cost previously required.

Suslak said, “Sefaira’s technology is at the forefront of enabling wide scale energy efficiency improvement and emissions reduction for buildings and building products.

“Sefaira’s robust engine allows designers to make rapid design and engineering choices that enable measurable savings to a building’s energy costs and environmental footprint.”

Savelsberg added, “Our confidence in Sefaira is demonstrated by their impressive track record of rapid customer adoption, new market expansion and global presence.

“We are excited to help further accelerate their growth plans.”

Venture firm Braemer targets early to mid-stage investments in the energy technology sector, and has helped finance more than 60 companies.

Last month it led an $8m financing round in solid-state LED lighting solution provider Albeo Technologies.
