Juniper Networks backed the round through its Junos Innovation corporate venture fund alongside Seagate, with the commitment coming a month after Cloudscaling announced its Open Cloud 2.5 system.
The Junos Innovation Fund was launched in 2010 to invest in leading early-stage and growth-stage technology companies which “expand and enhance the Junos ecosystem”.
Trinity general partner Dan Scholnick said, “Juniper Networks and Cloudscaling share a vision of how cloud infrastructure should be built and operated to support a new generation of cloud-aware workloads.
“Collaborating to integrate our technology into OCS was just the first step. We are excited to continue our work with Cloudscaling and support the company as a strategic investor.”
Global venture capital firm Bessemer Venture Partners led the round, with existing investors ONSET Ventures, Norwest Venture Partners, RBC Venture Partners, Cardinal Venture Capital, and Monitor Ventures also participating.
