3D printing start-up MakerBot Industries is reportedly in talks with a number of potential suitors as the sector becomes a much-hyped area of attention for investors.
MakerBot, which is based in New York, was established four-years ago and talks surrounding a potential venture round recently valued the company at about $300m, according to the Wall Street Journal.
It said major manufacturers such as United Technologies and Boeing are already using 3D printing techniques and want to incorporate them more into manufacturing processes going forward.
It is believed talks are on-going but it is not yet certain they will lead to an acquisition.
