UK’s Wellcome Trust bets big on VC in 2012

stocks_lrg The Wellcome Trust, the UK's biggest charity and one of the world's most active investors in private equity, has upped its commitments to venture capital to 19 per cent of its £13.6bn investment portfolio in the last 12 months, in an effort to profit from the impending public listings of internet giants such as Facebook and Twitter.

General Atlantic leads $108m round for analytics services company Mu Sigma

Mu Sigma a Chicago-based provider of analytics and decision support services, has closed a $108m investment round led by General Atlantic. The deal is believed to be the biggest private equity investment made to date in the emerging market for analytics services, and follows Mu Sigma's April 2011 $25m round led by Sequoia Capital.
