Liquavista, a next-generation LCD company, has closed a €7m series D funding round from existing partners Amadeus Capital Partners, GIMV, Prime Technology Ventures and Applied Ventures.
The funding is aimed at accelerating commercialisation and supporting Liquavista’s strategy to have products with its technology appearing on the market in 2011.
Liquavista’s LCD2.0 product platforms are suited for the next generation of e-reading and tablet devices, offering multimedia and video capabilities. The company hopes to benefit from an expected surge in demand for e-reader devices over the coming years.
Liquavista chairman Nigel Litchfield said, “With our video capability and full colour, and our low power and unsurpassed outdoor viewability, we make it impossible for existing display technologies to compete with the versatility that Liquavista’s technology can offer.”
Liquavista is headquartered in the Netherlands and has an office in Hong Kong.
