Climate Change Capital, an investment manager specialising in low carbon opportunities, has appointed Shaun Mays as CEO, with immediate effect.
Mays was appointed chief investment officer of CCC last October as part of a succession plan. Mark Woodall, the current CEO has been working with Mays for a number of months to ensure a smooth transfer.
Mays said, “I am delighted to be taking over as CEO at an incredibly exciting time for Climate Change Capital. I am looking forward to leading CCC into a new chapter of the company’s history, building on Mark and the CCC’s team’s hard work and success during the last six years. Mark and I have established a good working relationship over nearly a year and I look forward to having his continued support in his new role with the company.”
Mays has 20 years experience in the funds management industry in both executive and investment positions in the UK, Australia and the US. Previously, he held the position of chief executive of Deutsche Asset Management’s RREEF Infrastructure Investments.
Woodall will continue to be involved with CCC in a non-executive capacity as a senior adviser to the company as well as becoming the non-executive chairman of the investment committees of our carbon funds.
Woodall added, “I have greatly enjoyed building the company to its current successful position. I believe that now the time is right for a new person to take up the baton and lead CCC on the next stage of its development. The business has had a strong six months of profitable trading and we are extremely well positioned for the future.”
