Emerging markets investor Aureos Capital creates new IR role for North America

15 Oct 2009

Aureos Capital, a private equity firm which invests in businesses across Asia, Africa and Latin America, has recruited Gustavo Eiben to head its North American investor relations operations. Eiben, previously with JP Morgan, will be based in New York.

The new role at Aureos has been created to provide more senior level management of the firm’s relationship with its growing North American investor base.

At JP Morgan, Eiben was responsible for structuring investment funds and managing them through to market launch. He was responsible for over a dozen fund launches, with a particular focus on private equity funds. Prior to this, Eiben worked at private equity firm Schroder Ventures US.

Eiben said, “There is an increasing acceptance amongst larger investors that improving their exposure to emerging markets private equity should provide a stronger, more profitable diversification strategy. My view is that Aureos offers the right vehicles to achieve that, and is well placed to work with fast-growing small and medium-sized companies in the emerging markets.”

Last month, Aureos invested $10m in ITS InfoComunicacion, a provider of IT services related to infrastructure support in Costa Rica.
