Mosaic Ventures eyes up to $150m for second fund


Mosaic Ventures is looking to raise up to $150m for its second VC fund to cement its place as a “new Silicon Valley-style venture capital firm based in London”.

Mosaic is focused Series A investments and has backed well-known tech businesses such as Etsy, Pinterest and Squarespace.

The UK investor is currently deploying its $140m maiden fund, which it closed in 2014.

No capital has been registered for Fund II to date according to a filing registered by Mosiac with the US SEC.

Mosaic was founded in 2014 led by managing partners Toby Coppel, Simon Levene and Mike Chalfen.

The firm makes fewer than 10 investments each year according to its website, with an interest in areas including marketplaces, next generation finance and payments, bitcoin and the blockchain, SaaS for SMEs, analytics, education and health.
