Learn Capital eyes $250m for Fund IV

Education-focused venture capital firm Learn Capital is seeking $250m of capital commitments for its latest investment vehicle.

The firm has registered Learn Capital Venture Partners IV in a filing submitted to the United States Securities and Exchange Commission last week.

The firm has yet to register any commitments for the fund, however it does not expect the fundraise to last longer than a year, the documents add.

Learn Capital previously raised $52m for the fund’s predecessor in 2015, towards a $79m goal. It’s unclear when that vehicle reached final close and on what amount.

The San Mateo-headquartered firm is focused on investing in education technology companies globally.

The firm’s portfolio includes startups such as Udemy, Andela, Edsurge and General Assembly.
