Energy-focused private equity major ArcLight Capital Partners has pulled in close to $2.2bn of capital towards its seventh flagship fundraise.
The firm filed to raise ArcLight Energy Partners Fund VII in June last year, and has now registered commitments from at least 60 LPs according to an updated filing it submitted to the US SEC.
No target is given for the fundraise. ArcLight closed its predecessor vehicle on more than $5.5bn in 2015, easily beating its initial $4bn target and $5bn hard cap.
Investors in its previous funds have included LPs such as Maine Public Employees Retirement System, Colorado PERA and Montana Board of Investments.
ArcLight, which was founded in 2001, focuses on midstream, power and energy production opportunities in North America.
The firm has invested about $21bn across more than 100 transactions, and sealed 65 exits.
