Queen’s Park Equity has hit a £185m hard cap final close for its debut fundraise, beating its initial target despite the pressures of the Covid-19 pandemic.
QPE had hoped to collect £150m for Queen’s Park Equity Partners I, which was raised entirely during the coronavirus crisis.
The firm was launched last year to target investments in education, healthcare, pharmaceuticals and tech services, focusing on companies with EBITDA of £1m – £5m.
QPE was founded last year by Jose Rodriguez Cesenas, Jonny Kay and Ed Goddard.
Kay previously spent nearly a decade at Sovereign Capital, while Rodriguez was with the private equity firm for almost 12 years.
Connaught acted as exclusive placement agent for the QPE fundraise and Sidley Austin acted as legal counsel.
Investments made by the firm so far include backing DCSL Software, a software development and digital transformation specialist.
