True Wind Capital Management, a buyout house established by founders and former heads of KKR’s global technology group have registered their intentions to raise their sophomore fund.
The San Francisco-based firm has registered its True Wind Capital II vehicle in an SEC filing published earlier this week.
Fund II has yet to receive any capital commitments the documents show.
True Wind has hired FPCG and Aqueduct Capital Group as placement agents for the fundraise in the US and abroad.
The firm raised a $560m for the final close for their debut fundraise two years ago, easily beating their initial $400m target.
True Wind did not disclose a target for Fund II however it will likely be aiming to surpass its predecessor fundraise.
True Wind typically targets lower mid-market tech companies, with a broad focus including software, services, industrial technology and hardware.
The firm was launched by Adam Clammer and Jamie Greene, who have worked together for over 20 years and collectively have more than 50 years of private equity investing experience.
The firm’s current portfolio includes live video production and distribution platform THE SWITCH, SaaS and marketing services business ARI Network Services and transportation SaaS company Transflo.
