Consumer sector-focused private equity firm Yellow Wood has added Kevin McCafferty as a vice president in its Boston office.
McCafferty previously held operating roles at wholesale bakery Superior Cake Products, a principal at New England Capital Partners and a strategy consultant at Monitor Group.
In his new job, he will be responsible for helping Yellow Wood develop its existing portfolio companies and expand its investment sourcing business.
Yellow Wood partner Dana Schmaltz said, “Kevin’s combination of operating and investment experience fits very well with Yellow Wood’s strategy.
“He will be a great partner for our portfolio company management teams as they continue to grow their businesses and will add significantly to our firm’s sourcing network for add-on acquisitions as well as new portfolio investments.”
Yellow Wood raised $225m for its debut fund two years ago, smashing its $200m target. The vehicle invests between $10m and $80m in controlling or minority stakes in the consumer packaged goods industry.
Yellow Wood’s portfolio includes perfumes maker Parfums de Coeur and over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical products company Bedrock Brands.
