European private equity investor Vorndran Mannheims Capital has promoted business analyst Markus Köllmann to investment manager.
Köllmann, who been with the firm since March 2009, has helped with the analysis and restructuring of potential acquisitions, particularly in the renewable energy and high tech manufacturing industries.
He was also responsible for VMCap’s portfolio of solar investments including solar project developer Soventix.
Managing partner Helmut Vorndran said, “Markus Köllmann has convinced the management through outstanding performance since joining the company.
“We reward such commitments at Vorndran Mannheims Capital.”
VMCap rebranded itself from Ventizz Capital Partners last July following its continued shift towards buyout deals.
The firm was formed in 2000 with a name attempting to combine “venture” and “business”, but quickly began focusing on private equity deals over early-stage investments.
Ventizz has seen a consistent increase in capital committed to its funds since raising its first €30m vehicle in 2000, having completed a €60m fundraise in 2005 and filling a €125m fund just a year later.
It closed a €455m fund back in 2008.
The firm has invested in 47 transactions and realised 22 investments since 2000, with all realised or publicly traded assets of Funds II to IV generating more than 100 per cent gross IRR as of March 31, 2012.
