Vision Capital loses IR head van Tuyll to Lion Capital

Julia van Tuyll, Vision CapitalDirect secondaries private equity firm Vision Capital has lost its last-remaining investor relations executive after vice president Julia van Tuyll left for Lion Capital.

PEI first reported the news, which leaves Vision without any dedicated IR staff five years after it last raised a fund.

IR manager Van Tuyll joined Vision in 2001 and was involved with the implementation of fundraising programme, including raising capital from new and existing relationships.

She also ran the firm’s media programme and put its PR and marketing strategies into action.

Vision raised €680m for its last private equity fund in 2009, almost double its €350m predecessor vehicle.

Consumer-focused private equity firm Lion Capital reportedly fell short of its €2bn target for its third buyout fund, which it closed with commitments of €1.5bn in 2012 after almost three years ago on the road.

The firm struggled to hit its target amid a wider backdrop of economic uncertainty that had hit the consumer space hard in the wake of the financial crisis, coupled with a challenging fundraising market that saw many of its investors scale back their commitments, a source told AltAssets at the time.
