Principal Rock Meng has also left Vector, managing director and CIO Alex Slusky told PeHUB.
Slusky said that Mehta, pictured, has decided to take some time off after 12 years in the private equity industry and is currently looking at a number of opportunities.
The report added that it is unclear why Meng stepped down after almost nine years with the firm.
Vector closed its most recent fund, Vector Capital IV, on $1.2bn in 2007.
The firm’s recent deals include the acquisition of cloud-based collaboration business CollabNet from its venture backers and other shareholders.
