US VC Khosla Ventures hires Condoleeza Rice as strategic adviser

High profile US investor Khosla Ventures has reportedly retained the services of former Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice’s consulting firm RiceHadleyGates as strategic adviser.

According to Reuters, the partnership is based on helping portfolio companies navigate government and regulatory concerns abroad.

Anja Manuel, partner at RiceHadleyGates, said, ‘We’ll help with negotiating the world of emerging markets, understanding where to expand to.’

The other principals at the firm are former national security adviser Stephen Hadley, and ex-Secretary of State Robert Gates.

Manuel is the former special assistant to under secretary for political affairs at the US Department of State.

Working out of bases in Silicon Valley and Washington, the firm said it works with senior executives of major companies to develop and implement their strategic plans and help companies expand in major emerging markets, including Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.
