UK private equity house Apiary Capital names Shah as partner, Alldred as investment director

UK private equity house Apiary Capital has named Jeniv Shah as it newest partner after two years at the firm.

Shah, formerly an investment director at Apiary, previously spent more than a decade at mid-market private equity investor Kester Capital.

Apiary also revealed it had promoted former Exponent PE exec Thomas Alldred to investment director after a year at the firm.

Apiary managing partner Mark Salter said, “We are delighted to announce Jeniv and Thomas’ promotions.

“Both Jeniv and Thomas have played a key role in the establishment of the firm. I am very proud of the experienced team we have built at Apiary, and our progress to date in investing our inaugural fund.”

Apiary Capital hit its £200m hard cap for the final close of its debut fund in mid-2018, just six months after launching the vehicle.

Lower mid market-focused Apiary initially hoped to collect £150m for Apiary Capital Partners I, which it has been using to target UK companies in the business services, education and healthcare sectors.

Firm founder Mark Salter was previously a senior partner at Bowmark Capital, where he spent 16 years investing in UK lower mid-market businesses.
