24 Feb 2014

Hugh-HarperTowerbrookTowerbrook Capital partner and managing director Hugh Harper has reportedly left the firm after two years spent working on improving operations at its portfolio companies.

Harper spent almost 13 years at McKinsey before joining Towerbrook in January 2012, but stepped down last month according to Dow Jones.

It cited public disclosures and a person familiar with the matter.

Towerbrook was launched in 2005 by the former co-heads of Soros Private Equity Neal Moskowski and Ramez Sousou.

Last October Towerbrook was said to be considering refinancing its European portfolio companies to take advantage of cheap debt in the lacklustre dealmaking environment.

The firm was eyeing new financing deals for UK ventilation business Volution Group and London-based fashion retailer Phase Eight according to Bloomberg, which cited two people with knowledge of the matter.

Other businesses it was looking to renegotiate debt packages for include French vehicle equipment maker Autodistribution, it added.
