Private equity firm Thoma Bravo has promoted principal Robert Sayle to partner.
Prior to joining Thoma bravo in 2005, Sayle, pictured, worked at JP Morgan in New York and Hambrecht & Quist in San Francisco.
The firm said he was instrumental in its acquisition and development of software portfolio companies Embarcadero Technologies, Empirix, Entrust, InfoVista, LANDesk Software, Network Instruments, SonicWALL, and Tripwire.
Thoma Bravo managing partner Orlando Bravo said, “Throughout his nine years at Thoma Bravo, Robert has proven to be a strong part of our successful investment team.
“His promotion is a testament to his hard work and success in helping to develop great portfolio companies and generate strong returns for our investors.”
In the meantime, Thoma Bravo is set to get a $200m payout from LANDesk.
The latest dividend recapitalisation will take Thoma’s returns to three times its initial investment, according to Moody’s.
