Global growth investor Summit Partners has hired Darren Black as a managing partner and Thomas Tarnowski as principal to focus on healthcare deals.
Black was previously a managing partner with SV Life Sciences and has more than 20 years of experience in the healthcare investment and entrepreneurial experience.
Tarnowski has spent more than 12 years working in investing and healthcare for firms including Credit Suisse First Boston and Citigroup, and most recently led the healthcare team for Triton.
Summit managing director Marty Mannion said, “We’re delighted to welcome Darren and Thomas to our experienced team.
“Their deep knowledge and sector expertise will help Summit build on its nearly 30-year history of investing in the healthcare sector. We’re very much looking forward to working with them.”
COMS, which makes software to manage health and disease profiles of elderly people requiring post-acute care, said the funding would be used to expand the company and marketing its products.
