Scale Venture Partners hires ex-Netflix director Tseitlin as partner

6 Nov 2013

ariel tseitlinVenture capital firm Scale Venture Partners has hired former Netflix director Ariel Tseitlin as a partner to focus on the cloud infrastructure sector.

At Netflix, Tseitlin served as a director of cloud solutions. His team built many of the Netflix OSS components like Asgard and the Simian Army, including the Chaos Monkey, which Scale said made its streaming service “more resilient, reliable, and manageable.”

“Ariel brings his experience in evaluating new technologies to keep Netflix at the forefront of the cloud to ScaleVP where he is focusing on new cloud investment opportunities,” said the firm.

He has also worked as vice president of technology and products at Sungevity and was founder and CEO of software consultancy CTOWorks.

Last month Scale brought back executive-in-residence Zack Urlocker two years after originally bringing him on board in the same role.

In May this year the firm closed its fourth venture capital fund on $300m to continue making investments in early-in-revenue technology companies in the cloud, mobile, SaaS and internet sectors.
