Rutland Partners promotes two as Fund III raise continues

David Wardrop RutlandUK turnaround-focused buyout house Rutland Partners has made a pair of promotions as fundraising continues for its third private equity fund.

David Wardrop, pictured, has been promoted to partner and Kajen Mohandas to investment manager six years after the pair joined the firm.

Rutland chairman Michael Langdon said, “We are delighted that David has joined the partnership.

“He has made a significant contribution to the team over a number of years and we are pleased to mark his achievements with this promotion.

“We are also delighted to promote Kajen to Investment Manager, an appointment he thoroughly deserves for all the dedicated hard work he has contributed in his time with Rutland.”

Rutland was said to be nearing a first close for its third private equity fund last September.

The firm had received strong interest from investors for the £300m-targeting vehicle according to PE News, which cited three people familiar with the matter.

Rutland made short work of fundraising for its last fund in 2007, gathering £322m after less than a year on the road. That was easily above its £250m target for Rutland Fund II.
