Quantum Energy Partners hires Michael Linn as senior advisor

Private equity firm Quantum Energy Partners has hired former LINN Energy chairman, president and CEO Michael Linn as a senior advisor.

Linn, pictured, will also join the energy-focused firm’s industry advisory board as well as providing counsel on investments and using his contacts to source deals.

Quantum previously worked with Linn in 2003 with the formation of LINN Energy, to acquire natural gas products in the Appalachian basin.

The company became the first US upstream Master Limiter Partnership to go public in more than a generation, Quantum said, and now has an enterprise value of more than $15bn.

Linn continues to serve on the LINN Energy board as well as on the boards of the National Petroleum Council, the Independent Petroleum Association of America and Nabors Industries.

Quantum has gathered more than $6.5bn in equity commitments since it was founded in 1998.

It is currently investing through its $2.5bn fifth fund raised in 2008.
