Tech and healthcare focused investment firm Polaris Partners has promoted entrepreneur-in-residence Pat Kinsel to venture partner.
Kinsel joined the firm last year after his Polaris-backed company, Spindle, was bought by Twitter.
He specialises in mobile, search, data analytics, collaboration and social software, and will focus on early-stage tech investments and developing relationships with entrepreneurs.
Polaris managing partner Dave Barrett said, “His ability to go deep into a technical space while maintaining a long term strategic focus has enabled him to successfully advance innovation within both large corporations and emerging early stage companies.
“Having closely worked with him as an entrepreneur, we are thrilled that he will be applying these strengths to the current and future Polaris portfolio.”
Prior to co-founding Spindle Kinsel spent several years leading teams within Microsoft FUSE Labs and Microsoft Startup Labs, where he was responsible for incubating new concepts and bringing them to market.
