He previously led web-based learning and phone-based cognitive behavioural coaching company Free & Clear and was president of legal business services provider Applied Discovery.

The firm closed its last fund on $375m in 2011, well down on the $1bn it gathered for its predecessor.
Earlier this month it led a $14.5m Series A round for AgBiome, which develops agricultural products to improve crop productivity.
The round was also supported by ARCH Venture Partners, Harris & Harris Group, and Innotech Advisers.
