New York-based investment firm Pine Brook has named Edward Donkor and Ted Maa as principals on the firm’s energy investment team, while Scott Schaen has been promoted to principal on the financial services investment team.
Donkor, who has been with Pine Brook since October 2010 and has nine years of investment experience, represents the firm as a director of GR Energy Services Holdings. He has worked on energy investments including Brigham Resources, and Source Energy Partners. He joined Pine Brook from First Reserve Corporation.
Maa, who joined Pine Brook in July 2012, represents the firm as a director of Comet Ridge Resources and Saguaro Resources. He has also been involved in energy investments including Common Resources III, and Elevation Resources Holdings. He came to Pine Brook from Denham Capital Management, where he was a vice president specialising in energy infrastructure and oilfield services investment opportunities.
Schaen, who has been with Pine Brook since August 2010, represents the firm as a director of Green Bancorp. He has also worked on other financial services investments, including Global Atlantic Financial Group and NBIC Holdings. He joined Pine Brook from Lightyear Capital, the financial services-focused middle-market private equity investor.
Last year it emerged that Pine Brook had picked up a $150m investment from the New York State Retirement System towards its Pine Brook Capital Partners II fund.
