UK mid-market buyout house Phoenix Equity Partners has promoted long-standing management committee members David Burns and Richard Daw to managing partner.
The pair join existing managing partner James Thomas, with the trio taking on day-to-day responsibility for management of the firm and investor relations activity.
Existing managing partner Sandy Muirhead is stepping down after 13 years in the role, but will continue as chairman of Phoenix’s investment committee and as a member of its management committee.
The transition follows Hugh Lenon stepping down as a managing partner and being named chairman of the firm last year.
Earlier this year Phoenix hired Warwick Nash as a new operating director.
Nash previously held senior operational management roles including regional president of DBM, regional CEO of Millward Brown and business unit director of Diageo.
