Permira exec Björklund leaves board of Russia investment fund

29 Aug 2014

532_largePermira co-managing partner Kurt Björklund has left his post on the advisory board of the $10bn Russian Direct Investment Fund.

A person close to the fund confirmed that Finnish-born Björklund quit the role this month.

Media commentators have speculated that the exit is related to the political tensions and wide-ranging economic sanctions which have been imposed on Russia by the US and EU.

Björklund has been co-managing partner at global private equity firm Permira since 2008. He serves on the board and is a member of the investment committee.

Prior to joining Permira in 1996, Kurt worked for the Boston Consulting Group in Stockholm.
