Hatcher spent seven years at Gresham in non-executive positions for businesses such as oil and gas services company ICR Integrity and IESA, the outsourced procurement services provider.
He previously worked for professional services firm EY in the transaction advisory services team.
Hatcher said, “It is a great time to be joining Palatine.
“They have made five investments from the second fund they closed last year and have a good pipeline.
“I’m looking forward to working with the team and using my experience to complete more successful deals.”
Palatine managing partner Gary Tipper added, “We’re delighted to add Dan to our team.
“He has experience of working with entrepreneurs and management teams across a range of industry sectors and has worked on a number of deals.
“He’s a great addition to our existing team as we continue to invest our second fund.”
Palatine held a £150m final close for its second fund last summer thanks to strong overseas support.
About 55 per cent of commitments to the vehicle were from non-UK LPs, with £100m coming from existing backers and £50m from new investors.
Those new faces included GE Pension Trust, Nippon Life, a large German based insurance company and a London-based family office.
