US industry group the National Venture Capital Association has hired Justin Field as vice president of federal policy.
Field previously worked for the office of US senator Robert Menendez, where he was a legislative assistant responsible for tax issues and the senator’s work on the Senate finance committee.
NVCA president and CEO Bobby Franklin said, “With twelve years of experience at the highest rungs of Congress, Justin is a perfect fit for NVCA.
“His policy experience touches many corners of the innovation economy, providing him with a deep appreciation for the issues impacting venture capital and the high-growth companies our members fund and mentor.
“With experience in both the House and Senate, Justin’s keen understanding of the legislative process will be a great asset to NVCA as we advocate for policies to strengthen the startup ecosystem.”
Field began his career on Capitol Hill in the office of the House Democratic Caucus, where he was first a staff assistant and then later the special assistant to the executive director.
